Project

Installation of stobie poles, mid-span using Live Line Work Methods

Description

MAX was engaged to supply specialised lifting, transport & logistics solutions to install 14 new stobie poles located on the 132kv circuit between Davenport sub station and Woomera. These 132kv conductors were live during the works. 2 x 55t all terrain cranes with two winches were used to displace the live conductors allowing enough clearance for the 70t crane to stand the 19.5 meter 4.2t stobie pole. A Tidd PC-25 was used in conjunction with a prime mover and extendable trailer to deliver the stobie poles to site.

A 55t crane was also used to displace the live conductors on the adjacent towers so a mid-span joint could be installed. MAX has many years of experience working in harsh outback environments. We were able to supply a one-stop-shop from load out in Adelaide including transport and storage.
